Hay Fever is an allergy caused by pollen or dust in which the mucous membranes of the eyes and nose are inflamed, causing running at the nose and watery eyes.
Hay fever is something I have been suffering from since I was 18 years old. Throughout the years I have been to doctors for treatments but ultimately I found a drug free way to relieve my self from it. I have reached the conclusion and accepted the fact that it will remain with me throughout my life. Here are some ways that I have found are quite effective ranging from mild to high in intensity.
In UK Hay Fever stays with me through out summer, there are days when its very low or negligible and there are days when its awful and often reaches a sinus infection.
1- Hot Drinks:
I feel when I drink a hot drink like tea or coffee first thing in the morning, the allergy disappears for the day. I especially find strong black coffee as being the most effective hot drink.
2-Steam
Steam does not help it disappear but its best for relief and relaxation. To some extent it does clean the sinuses.
3- Sino Rinse (Amazon)
This is a package that you can find on the Boots website and Amazon. It consists of a squirting bottle and some sachets of salt. You squirt the mixture in one nostril, it comes out from the other, thus cleansing your sinuses. This can make the symptoms disappear for a day.
4- Prevaline Nasal Spray (Boots)
This nasal spray forms a covering on the mucous membranes of your nose and does not allow pollens to irritate the glands. Its great!
I find this to be quite effective. You must apply this on your nostrils and upper lips 3-4 times a day. Especially before going to bed. It blocks the pollen right before they enter your nose . It offers you with a new innovative way of blocking out up to 99% of particles before entering your nasal passages.
It is drug free causing no side effects and its safe for children, pregnant women and the elderly. It has a long lasting use, available at an affordable price, in a handy 3g tube.
6- Hay Fever Tablets: Anti Histamines
Hay Fever tablets are the last resort for me. I use it only when I’ve tried everything else and nothings working. Make sure you don’t use a lot of drugs for hay fever relief as your body can develop resistance against them.
