This can be done in two ways: basic capsule winter wardrobe guide
- Either mix and match what you already have
- Or simply buy new clothes
Always keep comfort in mind when choosing garments. Be it a seasonal change or a size drop, make sure what you are buying fits fine. basic capsule winter wardrobe guide
Going through my wardrobe I realised I needed items that I could mix up since I go out a lot. Instead of confusing myself with a variety of patterns, I went for simple items so I chose:
- a leopard print coat
- knee high boots
- a simple pashmina scarf
- a leather cross body bag
- a bobble hat
What Is A Capsule Wardrobe?
Those who you do not know what a capsule wardrobe is, its those basic essential clothing items which you will always need like trousers, a skirt or a coats
It is mostly plain minimal looking items of clothing that never go out of fashion.
It can also easily be mixed and matched with other clothes.
Monochrome and plain clothes give you a very tidy look. If you are a blogger, such clothing items come out very nice in pictures.
Don’t go over board with doing all your shopping in one day. Slowly build your wardrobe. Over spending is never a good thing.
It can be understood that in today’s era, with so many online and high street stores, its hard to keep your hands off things you love, but controlling your spendings helps you save money and it also keep your house decluttered.
How To Style A Minimal Look
Start off by choosing a central piece like a black skirt or a white shirt or even a patterned scarf. For example, a white shirt can be worn in many different ways with many different colours.
If you are going to an office, then wear a white collar shirt with a nice v-neck sweater and a plain blazer. Style it with black trousers a nude pair court shoes.
If you are going out with friends then choose brighter colours with your white shirt to complete the look.
Its also important to keep the choice of fabrics in mind. A silky skirt with a cotton top wont go as well as a viscose skirt and a polyester top.
A tweed jacket will sit well with a pair of jeans rather than a velvet dress.
