the bedrooms where the kids always seem to mess the most. When my house is
organised and clear of any clutter, I do not need to panic when unexpected guests do
arrive. I’m not searching through the whole house for the children’s books for school
or the jacket they may have just placed into the washing machine. A clean house
provides me with the quality time needed to spend with my family and friends.
Getting yourself organised does not take any fancy tools, boxes and organising
products! They are fun, but not really needed that much in tidying up your place to
be clean and organised.
All you need are three things and maybe some cheap containers with plentiful
stickers in helping you on the way.
Here’s what you need to really keep your room tidy:
Motivation the biggest and most important starter on your list! You need to start
getting up and about while being interested in tidying up your room on a regular
basis. For some it may be by writing up a To Do list and for others it will be rewarding
yourself after the job has been completed. Listen to your best music while working
or even a motivational poster. Whatever you may choose it has to be something
that will inspire you to help you keep doing it all the time. Personally, I am always
motivated when I am either stressed and a clean room makes me more relaxed. Start
by making your bed, a neat and tidy bed already makes you feel better and more
inviting to get into at the end of a busy day.
Provide a home for everything, even the smallest things in your room. Where
you keep your spare change, any medicine accessories, make-up and even your
favourite body spray! Providing each and everything in your room with a proper
place to stand makes it easy to put stuff away, rather than just throwing it anywhere
in the cupboard or dressing table. This even helps your children in finding things
you ask them to fetch. Label boxes and shelves so your family knows where things
belong.
Evenness is very important. Your room will only stay clean if you take care of it on
a usual basis. The effortless way to do this is to get into the habit of doing a tidy up
every day, making it part of your daily routine. This will help you in reducing the time
you spend on keeping your room tidy. Put away things in the right place where they
belong.
The important thing is to always remember that keeping your room tidy is an ongoing
routine and will need your attention every day. With these basic ideas keeping your
room clean will not be time consuming and you can sail through your daily chores
while ending your day in a relaxing bubble bath with scented candles while reading
your favourite book.
