A Gentleman is coming out very soon in a cinema near you. Starring Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez, ‘A Gentleman’ features Sidharth Malhotra in a double role. The actor plays Gaurav, who is the perfect marriage-material with a secure job and house, whereas Rishi is the risk-taker who is jumping walls and dodging bullets.
The good guy wants to marry Jacqueline Fernandez, but she wants someone with a little more thrill and excitement in his life. That is when Rishi makes an entry. Poor Gaurav’s whole life is turned around when Shetty’s entourage mistake him for Rishi, who they are on a hunt for.
The film also stars Suniel Shetty in a negative role.
I met up with the leading cast in a video conference here in London.
Natasha: From the trailer I can tell that there’s comedy in the film, was this something within your comfort zone?
Jacqueline: I have been a part of many comedy roles like the House Full series and have done a few action comedy roles as well. I personally love comedy, its a very difficult genre to do but in A Gentleman the comedy is very Raj and DK (Director-Producer duo), so its a little bit more subtle and real. Its fun and its coupled with a lot of action and romance. Its a first for me for sure.
Siddharth: We can not call it an out and out comedy, ours is an action comedy which also has romance and wonderful moments. Its got a great intensity between the two characters. Its a complete hindi film that has action romance and dance. This is the genre I love to watch. A lot of films have been made on this genre internationally. This is our attempt to make an action comedy which you don’t get to see in India. Which is not so slapstick or loud. It has a nice storyline. The comedy comes out of the story rather than us giving any punch lines.
