All is not lost. I actually found some very effective ways to overcome my laundry laziness and now I’m feeling epic. I can finally teach you guys how to be lazy and get your laundry done at the same time. Here are some step by step laundry tips:
- Use your washer as a laundry bag. This is what I do. I don’t have a fancy laundry bag sitting in some corner of my room anymore. Instead dirty laundry goes straight into the washing machine. It makes life so much simpler. All I have to do is turn the machine on once it becomes full of clothes. Mind you, do take care that your whites are not mixed with colourfast garments.
- For the next step, you will need lots of hangers. Once the washing is complete, hang all the dresses, shirts, jumpers, sleepwear, basically every large piece of clothing on the hangers. Next you can hang the clothes any where in the house. I usually do it on the doors, closets doors, in the windows, practically everywhere I can hang a hanger. If you live in a warm country, you can do this on the clothing line in your backyard.
- You can also invest in a clothing rail so all your clothes are in one place. It will make your house look much tidier.
- As for smaller clothing, hang them on the heaters. Make good use of all the heaters in your house. Beware, if its an electric heater, your clothes must not come in direct contact with the heater, or else, it will cause fire.
- Once the clothes become dry, all you now have to do is, hang the hangers directly in the cupboard. Yes, my husband’s clothes go directly in his cupboard and mine go in my own cupboard. Under garments go in the drawers and my son’s little clothes go into his cupboard. As simple as that!

My life has become so much easier now. There is no clothing clutter anywhere in the house. I realised that clothes made up most of the clutter in my house and since following this simple regime, my house is so much more manageable now.
In the end, declutter and giveaway your clothes more often. You can also do the washing twice a week to keep things more manageable. All the best!
