London Wedding.
Khalid and I have known each other since childhood so it can be believed that we are childhood sweethearts. We got engaged in Pakistan. I moved to London with my family, 3 years later Khalid moved here for higher studies and of course, to marry me.
I bought my dress from Pakistan, it was a beautiful red and orange skirt, blouse and an extremely heavy shawl, fully embellished with stones, sequins and beads. jewellery was made of real gold, also bought in Pakistan.
My wedding took place on a very short notice as it entirely depended on Khalid’s visa. I searched online for venues which was a difficult task as I wanted it to be a good venue, good food and a good budget too. I finally found a venue in Ilford, London which was a complete package in a very good price. Everything was included in one amount i.e. food, décor and hall. The food was amazing, the décor was splendid and the hall was grand.
The next task was to look for a makeup artist and again I surfed the net for some good Pakistani makeup artists. The bridal industry in Pakistan is huge and I often meet makeup artists who say Pakistani bridal industry is so huge that we cannot reach its standard. It was true because every makeup artists portfolio I came across, it seemed I was looking at something out of the 90s. The wedding went great, it was a nice sunny Sunday in the month of July. The feelings were great and memorable.
It was a good opportunity for my parents to meet all their old friends from the 70s. The wedding was simple. There was just lunch, there was no dancing or drinking.
After the celebrations, we went to the park next door called the Valentine’s Park. Its a huge park and it had great locations for photography. Our dear friend did all the photography.
We now have a 3 years old son who is the apple of our eyes.
