Organic Pharmacy’s Discovery / Travel kit is a selection of their hero-products in miniature.  It is designed to be the perfect gift, travel essential kit or simply be an opportunity for you to try a selection of their greatest hits. You just follow four steps for radiant, healthy skin.  I took my kit with me on a trip to the French Alps where they were the perfect size and quantity to use all week and I still had some to take back home with me.

The kit contains: a 10 ml pot of the Carrot Butter Cleanser; a 10 ml pump bottle of the Herbal Toner; a 5 ml pump bottle of the Antioxidant Face Firming Serum; a 5ml pump bottle of the Antioxidant Face Gel; a 10 ml pot of the Double Rose Rejuvenating Face Cream and a muslin cloth.

Step 1: Carrot Butter Cleanser

This one threw me for a loop.  It has the consistency of a lip-balm where most cleansers I’ve used are either oil-based or foaming; so I struggled at first on how to apply it.  You rub a small amount onto your face with your fingers and the warm body-heat of the rubbing melts the product into the skin; as you do so the dirt and makeup lifts.  After you have cleansed your entire face you then wash off with water and the muslin cloth provided.

Key Ingredients: Shea butter, marigold, carrot, St John’s wort, rosemary and lavender.

Step 2: Herbal Toner

Oh my gosh, the smell on this is lovely!  It’s super fresh with the addition of eucalyptus.  The bottle has a small spray applicator to evenly distribute the product. It feels cooling and fresh and gives your skin a nice glow. I usually leave this for a minute or two before proceeding to the next stage. It is Organic Pharmacy’s best selling toner. The nutrient rich formula rehydrates and preps the skin for moisturising and it helps minimise open pores.

Key Ingredients: Aloe, marshmallow, marigold, eucalyptus, St John’s wort and lavender.

Step 3: Antioxidant Face Forming Serum and/or Antioxidant Face Gel

I usually use one or the other as too many products can be overwhelming for your skin.  Both have antioxidant formulas that help liven up the skin and are meant to be anti-ageing. I always notice at this stage that my skin glows the most; and yet again, they have their scents nailed.  It looks, feels and smells as if you’ve had a professional facial! With the gel it is designed to lift and minimise pores, mop-up free radicals and reduces wrinkles. The serum is super powerful and has been nicknamed ‘the instant face lift’. It’s purpose is to reverse skin damage, lift and tone the skin, reduce wrinkles and tackle free radicals.

Antioxidant Face Gel Key Ingredients: Aloe, oats, marigold, St. John’s wort, lemon and orange.

Antioxidant Face Forming Serum Key Ingredients: Rose hip, carrot, lemon, orange, grapefruit and added Vitamin C.

Step 4: Double Rose Rejuvinating Face cream

Rose scents are a favourite for me in skincare.  It always smells so luxurious and feminine.  This little pot backs a punch.  I only needed a tiny swipe of the finger to get all the product I needed for my entire face.  You work in the light and fluffy cream for the finishing touch to lock in all the goodness you’ve applied in the previous steps.

Key Ingredients: Aloe, shea butter, bilberry, rose hip, gotu cola, and marigold.

Final Impression

They are small almost sample sizes but the little amounts you use go a long way. As I mentioned, there’s more than enough to last you a few weeks.  It’s a good value as well as most of these products in their full sized versions are priced at or above the cost of this entire kit.  I really got to work out my favourites and why so I could revisit and repurchase as needed.  You definitely get more than you would haunting the sample counter at your local pharmacy and the convenient squeeze and spray application is a plus.  The packaging is gorgeous as well, clean and simple, just what you need and nothing more.
