Going on holiday or deciding to travel to exotic locations can be a great way to relax your mind, reset and escape the harsh realities of life. However, there are a few things you will always need to take with you wherever you go, travel essentials which you can’t live without when you are in a foreign land, and which will come in handy in times of need.

Before you decide to book some cheap flights, fill your suitcase to the brim and fly off on your adventure; take some time to consider some of these items for your hour of need.

 

A Torch

 

A flashlight is a simple little device which will be a godsend if you ever find yourself out in the mountains at night time. A battery operated light is all you need to help you find your way if you get lost, or even better- buy one that hangs on your keyring!

A First Aid Kit

 

The essential piece of kit for anyone who decides to leave on vacation is a small first aid kit. It doesn’t have to be fully kitted out, as long as you have some painkillers and sickness pills; sterile wipes and band-aids; and some bandages and tape; you’ll be covered for any minor injuries. Keep it in your utility bag for quick access.

 

Wet Wipes

 

Wet wipes are a modern hero. If you happen to take the more extreme side of traveling and camp out in the woods, a wet wipe is invaluable for cleaning yourself when you have no shower supply or lake nearby.

 

Money

 

Of course, you can’t go traveling without cash. It’s a simple fact of life that money makes the world go round. Always make sure you have some local currency on you, in case you need to pay to use a phone or to get a lift into town. You can go to the post office to exchange currency before you get on the plane.

Camera

 

If you want to make memories and top up your Instagram account with photos, then a camera is essential. You can make all of your friends jealous and have lasting memories of your travels by taking some snaps every day.

 

Phone Charger Case

 

The worst nightmare for many of us is being out in the middle of nowhere and running out of battery on your phone. You can prevent this issue by investing in a phone charger case, and keep it with you for those times you are in need of a top up.

 

Mosquito Repellent

 

Mosquitos are irritating bugs which suck your blood and leave you with itchy bite marks on your skin, however in other countries around the world- they are much more hazardous. Mosquitos spread malaria through their bite, which can make you severely ill and can even be fatal.
